Homemade Sushi - A Pictorial

TA is the best husband ever and just bought me the Canon Rebel XSI 12.2 megapixel DSLR.
And yes, he does buy the best gifts ever. Last time a Kitchenaid Professional, this time the most awesome camera known to mankind. I love him very much.
TA and I also spent much of Labor Day weekend with MiL and sFiL in Maryland.
We ate lots of tasty fudz.
I took lots of pictures.
Enjoy.

California Roll
nori
krab
cucumber
avocado
Gather ingredients and play along.

Arrange artfully.

Serve with delicious accompaniments.
Like miso soup.

And wasabi peas.

Don't forget the wine.

And dig in.

But don't eat too much!

But it's okay if you do stuff yourself like it's Thanksgiving dinner made of raw fish.
The remedy is good people and good wine - even better by candlelight on a warm, late summer evening.

Happy Labor Day!

I am re-living it! It was wonderful! Yummy and we love the pictoral portrayal of Friday evening! Yum and ahhh...
Eh, eat all you want. It's healthy! Relatively, anyway.
MiL: It was lovely. A perfect Labor Day weekend.
Kristin: Knowing my luck, someone would give me free license to eat all the sushi I want and I'd get all Jeremy Piven up in here and end up with mercury poisoning...or parasites.
This was an enormous sushi meal for only four people. I happily beached myself afterward.
Oh, you are making me hungry! I do love sushi! You roll yours by hand, pretty cool. I always use the sushi mat or what a mess I make! Nice pictures.
Beautiful pics to break in the new camera! You'll love the Canon. I have it, too. I'm a newbie photographer, but even for me, it makes taking decent photos so much easier. Enjoy! ;)
Dana Zia: I thought it was interesting too that MiL rolls hers by hand. I haven't tried it that way yet, but I'm going to next time I make some maki.
Carolyn: You're so right! Just a normal picture that I took with my point-and-shoot taken with this camera comes out a million times better. This baby is never leaving my side!
